Last week, Grads4Nottm placement student Eleanor designed us an amazing learning programme, which we’re super excited to share with you: Posters from the Past!

We want you to pick a moment from Nottingham Castle’s past – it could be the siege of 1194 or the arson attacks of 1831 – make us your best historic poster. Nottingham Castle has an amazing history which we want you to help us share that with Nottingham now!

The poster could include:

  • The name of the castle
  • A large image of the castle you have made (this could be a model, a painting, a drawing, a collage made of nature materials, a mosaic, a hammer bead picture, it could even be made out of food – the more creative the better!!)
  • Date of the time that the castle is being portrayed
  • A small paragraph explaining how your castle portrays the castle at that time

Eleanor’s even made an example version for you! Even including some opening times, when you might be able to come and join us when we reopen next year!

When you’ve completed your poster and if you want to, you can ask someone at home to share it with us on social media using the hashtag #NottmHeritageHunters or email them to gmorgan@nottinghamcastletrust.org. There will be an extra special prize for the best one and their family!
