Be instrumental in the reintroduction of the Nottingham Catchfly to its rightful home at Nottingham Castle.

We want you to have a go at germinating, nurturing and safekeeping our designated county flower, prior to reintroducing it to castle grounds in 2021.

Regardless of age, background or ability, or if you have a garden or a sunny windowsill, we want you to join us in tackling the isolation created by COVID-19 and harness with us the power of plants, wildlife and volunteering by sowing seeds of hope and leaving your legacy at Nottingham Castle.

Come May, we will be sending out seed packets for you to plant, together with the guidelines. We welcome all who live and/or work in Nottinghamshire to sign up. All we ask is that you adhere to our growing guidelines, keep us updated on your progress (by email or tagging us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtags #NottinghamCatchfly #CampionsLeague (the Nottingham Catchfly is part of the Campion flower family)) and join us next Summer to reintroduce them back into the Castle grounds.

If you require assistance with the sign up, have any questions or would like to request several packs on behalf of an organisation supporting COVID-19 initiatives, contact Pippa, Nottingham Castle’s Volunteer Manager, at

Please sign up below to become a Nottingham Catchfly Champion.

Deadline: Due to the level of interest we can only provide one seed pack per household and seeds will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who signed up to become a Nottingham Catchfly Champion. We have had such a great response that we have had to close sign-ups. Please keep an eye out on our social media platforms and newsletter for further projects and opportunities.
